| Description | The IC3 (564) from Chur to Zurich had a fault on an Re 460 locomotive at 09:20 am. Instead of passing through Bad Ragaz station, the train came to a stop at platform 3. The fire-fighting and rescue train from Rapperswil had to maneuver the defective locomotive out of the train and tow it away. Between the Bad Ragaz North and Maienfeld Rossriet crossover points a makeshift single-track service could be sustained. Of course there were delays. The IR35 from Sargans, which leaves four minutes before the IR13, ran through Bad Ragaz without stopping. The passengers had to change in Sargans to the IR13. The disorder was resolved at 12:10 pm. The incident showed how important the rarely used switches are in such a case. Switzerland, February 3, 2024. (2/2) |
