| Description |
English: Bad Wimpfen's famous skyline, from the Neckar River bridge. From left to right, the Red Tower (square), Steinhaus, Blue Tower (with spire), and Stadtkirche (Protestant church). The Kaiserpfalz (Emperor's palace) occupies the space between the two towers.
The railroad line runs under the city. You can see some signals. The station is left of the photo, in Bad Wimpfen im Tal (valley). It is a branch line that runs to Sinsheim, and eventually to Heidelberg. The main line between Heilbronn and Heidelberg is on the other side of the Neckar River. It is more difficult to take a photo like this, now that a set of unattractive condominiums was built at the west (far) end of Bad Wimpfen in the 1970s or 1980s. I cannot find a reference to these buildings on the internet. Perhaps nobody is proud of them. |
