Description
Deutsch: aus dem DEHIO Vorarlberg 1983: Villa Ganahl, Villa Claudia, (rote Villa), Bahnhofstrasse 6 in Feldkirch,Vorarlberg. Villa Claudia oder Villa Ganahl; erbaut 1884 von Schellenberg und Holzhammer. Reich gestalteter Baukörper auf asymmetrischem Grundriß in altdeutschen und barockisierenden Stilformen: mächtiger Turm mit Zwiebelhelm, reich gegliederte Fensterrahmungen im Hauptgeschoß, gemalter Fries in der Dachzone, altdeutscher Giebel, Firstgitter. Im Innern mehrere original erhaltene, reich ausgestattete Räume, eine Barockdecke aus dem 17. Jht. /// Bauherr: Arnold Ganahl / Architekten: Schellenberg und Holzhammer / Baufirma: Pümpel /// Arnold Ganahl (1837 – 1917) war von 1885 bis zur Jahrhundertwende Bürgermeister der Stadt Feldkirch, außerdem einige Jahre Landeshauptmannstellvertreter und von 1910 bis zu seinem Tod Präsident der Handelskammer. Den Namen erhielt die Villa nach Arnold Ganahls Mutter Claudia und nach seiner gleichnamigen Tochter. Der herrliche Planfond in der Ritterstube stammt aus dem Jonasschlösschen in Götzis.
