Ballylarkin Motte

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ballylarkin Motte in the townland of Ballylarkin Lower. The completely demolished castle was the main seat of the Norman Shortall family. There are embankments visible around it on satellite view. The church in Ballylarkin Upper is across the road; a medieval village is believed to be buried between the motte and the church.
