English: South Chicago, IL. Substructure of new bascule bridge across the Calumet River, built for the Chicago & Western Indiana Railroad Company for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company. Bridge design is described as a single leaf bascule bridge, also called a "jack knife" bridge. Page 102 from Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company book.
