Description
English: 3x180 arcs gives capstan reduction and good geometry of grab on host including what ABoK calls 'Double Bearing', this extends to the same shape crossing itself on(like Clove etc.) or off the host(Cow etc.). Direction is always very important, but most determinate in the crossing self on host, as to whether presenting strong nip of greater tension over lesser, or just firmer pasted frictions of less tension rope part over greater tension rope part. Mr. Ashley in ABoK points out several times about double bearing spreading out wear on small host, and that a Back Hand Turn achieves this in a single pass. A lot of things he only points out once...
