Summary

[edit]
Description

This is a common schematic symbol for an amplifier that may be found in most circuit diagrams. The input signal is on the top (Denoted by a sine wave in a circle) and shares a common ground with the amplifier circuitry(for balanced amplifiers). A Positive voltage source is used for biasing (usually transistors or a transistorized IC) denoted by "+", and a resulting amplified output signal is produced (the large sinewave). NOTE: all sinewaves are for demonstrational purposes, actual signal waveform may vary.
