English: The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, monument to Canova. In 1794 Antonio Canova designed and built a model for the tomb of Titian, but there were many difficulties in raising the necessary funds for the construction, so that in 1822, the year of Canova's death, it was still in draft form. Canova was buried in Possagno, his native country, the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice decided to build a monument to preserve the porphyry urn containing the heart of the artist; the work was undertaken by six of his students and completed in 1827. Nel 1794 Antonio Canova progettò e realizzò un modello per il monumento funebre di Tiziano, ma ci furono molte difficoltà nella raccolta dei fondi necessari per la realizzazione, così che nel 1822, anno della morte del Canova, era ancora allo stato di modello in creta. Canova fu sepolto a Possagno, suo paese natale, l'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Venezia decise di far costruire un monumento per preservare l'urna di porfido contenente il cuore dell'artista; l'opera venne intrapresa da sei suoi allievi e completata nel 1827 come Monumento funebre ad Antonio Canova. Il Genio della sculptura con la fiaccola mortuaria accesa - Rinaldo Rinaldi. 1827
