Black leather case with green felt lining and metal fittings, three brass mouthpieces, small wood ring, small wood case holding three reeds, two plastic tubes with one reed inside each 1 bassoon Rudall Carte and Co. Ltd., London, England, circa 1920 rosewood, nickel-silver ferrules and keys, French system, overall length 1282 mm stamped ‘(crown)- RUDALL - CARTE and CO. LTD. - LONDON’ 1998.60.25 Castle 32 (purchase) Bertram Yates, a former Queens Hall bassoonist, formerly owned this bassoon. Ronald Castle purchased it from him when he was the 1st bassoon in the Wellington Symphony Orchestra in the 1930s. |
