Battalgazi city walls

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The town had a set of walls in a trapezoid form, started by Roman Emperor Trajan, added to by Diocletian, and finished in 532 by Justinian. There was a double set of walls, and a water filled ditch. The highest parts were 20 meters. When these pictures were taken they had eroded and were almost level with surrounding fields. In recent pictures on the web one can now see a complete city gate, so some restoration has been executed.
