Description

Beef Rendag

Make a boemboe/paste in the blender from: 1 red onion, chopped 4 cloves of garlic, chopped 5 red chilies (deseeded) chopped 1/2 t kurkuma 1 t laos (I didn't have this fresh) 4 roasted kemiri-nuts (candlenut) 5 cm ginger, chopped 2 stalks lemongrass, finely chopped

Take 1 can of coconutmilk, add the boemboe/paste and add: 2 leaves salaam (indonesian bay leaf) 2 lime leaves salt (30 gr toasted coconutflakes if you like)

Bring to the boil and add 500 gram lean beef. Depending on the meat you use, simmer until the meat is tender and the sauce is thick and sticky. (It took me 4 hours) Add salt or sambal oelek if needed.

Serve with nasi kuning and green beans.
