Nederlands: De vanaf 1939 gebouwde eenheids-goederentreinlocomotief van de baureihe 50 behoort tot de meest succesvolle locomotieven van de Deutsche Reichsbahn. Tot 1948 zijn er in totaal 3164 machines van deze serie gebouwd. De locomotieven hebben een maximale snelheid van 80 km/h vooruit en 50 km/h achteruit. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog is de baureihe 50, samen met de baureihe 44, lange tijd de ruggengraat geweest van het goederenvervoer. Ook werden de 50-ers ingezet voor passagiersvervoer.
Deutsch: The locomotive of the freight train unit built from 1939-baureihe 50 is one of the most successful locomotives of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.
