oben: Joachim und Anna, die Eltern Mariä, treffen sich an der Goldenen Pforte in Jerusalem, dem Symbol der unbefleckten Empfängnis Mariä. Die Männer ziehen in Verehrung ihre Hüte.

unten: Anna liegt in einem Himmelbett, unter einer Decke aus Goldbrokat. Frauen kümmern sich um die Wöchnerin, die eine bringt ihr zu essen, die andere badet das neugeborene Kind, Maria. Eine vornehme Besucherin macht ihre Aufwartung und wird mit einem Willkomm begrüßt.
