Description

Die Stadt Bergen auf Rügen liegt in zentraler Lage der Insel Rügen und ist das wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Zentrum der Insel. Die Altstadt ist in den Jahrhunderten historisch und einzigartig gewachsen und stellt ein fast unverwechselbares Ensemble dar. 1314 wird Bergen erstmals urkundlich erwähnt und erhielt 1613 das Stadtrecht. Seit 1996 offiziell Bergen auf Rügen. Das hügelige Umfeld ist weitgehend geprägt durch Landwirtschaft. Unweit vom Zentrum Bergens liegt in nordöstlicher Richtung der "Kleine Jasmunder Bodden" und südöstlich der "Greifswalder Bodden". Die zentral gelegene Stadt ist auch ideal als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge über die Insel Rügen. -

Einige Häuser in der Innenstadt Bergens sind leider immer noch sehr renovierungsbedürftig. Vielleicht wird's ja noch mal was. Interessant sind die Fenster, die damals verbaut wurden, die gingen alle nach außen auf. Übrigens, die Balken sind so krumm. Die Eingangstür ist linksseitig angebracht, normalerweise ist diese rechts.
