DescriptionBetjeman Statue St Pancras Station.jpg |
English: Sir John Betjeman statue in St Pancras railway station, London, UK, by Martin Jennings.
The statue stands in a disc of Cumbrian slate, inscribed in two rings. The inner ring is Betjeman's name and dates and the words “Who saved this glorious station”. The outer ring contains the sixth stanza from the poem Cornish Cliffs: “And in the shadowless unclouded glare / Deep blue above us fades to whiteness where / A misty sea-line meets the wash of air.” See A fitting tribute to Betjeman for further details. |
