Description
English: Statue of Betty Campbell in Central Square, Cardiff, unveilled September 2021. The statue consists of a monumental bronze head on a pylon representinga tree of life surrounded by ten figures of children reading & playing. Piles of books, an inscribed blackboard and other inscriptions represent significant parts of Campbells' life and teaching career along with depictions of the Tiger Bay area of Cardiff where she lived.
Deutsch: Statue von Betty Campbell auf dem Central Square in Cardiff, enthüllt im September 2021. Die Statue besteht aus einem monumentalen Bronzekopf auf einem Pylon, der einen Lebensbaum darstellt, umgeben von zehn lesenden und spielenden Kinderfiguren. Bücherstapel, eine beschriftete Tafel und andere Inschriften stellen wichtige Teile von Campbells Leben und ihrer Lehrtätigkeit dar, ebenso wie Darstellungen des Gebiets Tiger Bay in Cardiff, in dem sie lebte.
