Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bharud is a form of Marathi poetry. Through this, the work of conveying religious and moral philosophy to the general public through simple metaphors has been done. Many saints have written Bharude on social enlightenment. Saints who came before Eknath like Dnyaneshwar and Namdev and after Eknath like Tukaram and Ramdas wrote Bharude, but they are not as diverse as Eknath Maharaja. Compositions of Sant Tukdoji Maharaj are also popular.
