We are heading out this weekend out to launch the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/jurvetson/4570912825">Epic</a> as a four-motor cluster and this Sledgehammer airframe on a bigger Aerotech M motor. So I thought I‘d leave with the launch from earlier this May. This is a 9 ft.-tall rocket with wings and a videocam onboard (with a wide-angle lens). She lept to 350 MPH in 3.5 seconds per the on-board flight computers. Details on the M1500 propellant and more photos below. And here’s the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi-aIwXspAg" rel="noreferrer nofollow">video</a> with the hearty roar from the ground, and then the view from the rocket. |
