Description
English: First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 N. 27th St., Billings, Montana. Founded in 1882, First Congregational is the oldest church in the city. Pioneer Memorial Window, dedicated 1942. This window, celebrating the religious aspects of the colonization of the American West by white settlers, was originally installed on the east wall of the 1883 church building. The design was modeled after a painting by local artist J. K. Ralston. When the old building was demolished, the window was reinstalled in the new 1957 narthex.
