Summary[edit]
DescriptionBiograph Theater where John Dillinger was shot and killed (3692017974).jpg |
In 1934 Melvin Purvis was tipped off by madam Anna Sage that public enemy #1 John Dillinger would be attending a movie on the hot night of July 22. Around 10:30 PM Dillinger came out of the Biograph Theater with Sage and another woman and headed south. Melvin Purvis saw Dillinger and signalled his G-men who were waiting for him. Dillinger spotted Purvis and made a run into an alley but was gunned down. Four bullets entered his body and he died within three minutes. Located at 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue. |
