Summary[edit]

Description
English: A sign at Bishops Lydeard railway station pointing "to the National buses". the National Omnibus Company provided bus services across much of southern and eastern England. In the 1930s it exchanged shares with the local railway companies and absorbed the railways' bus services, creating Western National (with the Great Western Railway), Southern National (with the Southern Railway) and Eastern National (with the London and North Eastern Railway).
