Summary
[edit]DescriptionBlériot XXVII front view.jpg |
English: Original caption: Front view of the new Bleriot racer (No. XXVII), showing the reduced landing carriage, the overhung mounting of the engine and propeller, and the peculiarly shaped cowl which prevents the lubricating oil from reaching the pilot. Bleriot, such a strong believer in mounting the engine by bearings on both sides, has, it will be noted, at last abandoned that method in favour of one which renders the motor considerably more accessible. It will be observed that a very slight dihedral angle is employed on this new model, and that the main body has a decided taper towards the front to minimise head resistance. |
