Additional Community Gatherings Scheduled for SD Ranch Families Contact: Silvia Christen at 605-342-0429 and Jodie Anderson, 605 945-2333 Rapid City – Three additional community gatherings have been announced in addition to those already scheduled in Union Center, Faith, and New Underwood. These gatherings will take place in Belle Fourche on Tuesday, October 29, Hot Springs on Wednesday, October 30, and in Philip on Saturday, November 2. Each event will offer a free meal and information about resources available as these ranch families look to rebuild their ranch operations in the wake of the blizzard. Resources and information will be available from the SD Animal Industry Board, the SD Department of Agriculture, SDSU Extension, other federal and state agencies, bank and loan officers, insurance agents, agricultural industry organizations, and mental health professionals. Gatherings will be held at the following dates and times: Union Center Community Gathering Friday, October 25, 6:00 – 9:00 pm Union Center Community Center – Union Center, SD Faith Community Gathering Saturday, October 26, 6:00 – 9:00 pm Faith Legion Hall – Faith, SD New Underwood Community Gathering Monday, October 28, 6:00 – 9:00 pm New Underwood Community Center – New Underwood, SD Belle Fourche Community Gathering Tuesday, October 29, 6:00 – 9:00pm Belle Fourche Community Hall – Belle Fourche, SD Custer and Fall River County Community Gathering Wednesday, October 30, 6:00 – 9:00pm American Legion Club – Hot Springs, SD Philip Community Gathering Saturday, November 2, 5:00 – 8:00pm Bad River Senior Citizen Center – Philip, SD These gatherings are a joint effort by SD Cattlemen’s Association, SD Farm Bureau, SD Farmers Union, and SD Stockgrowers Association with the support of other industry groups and local businesses. |
