Blond ist eine schwule Bar in der Eisenacher Straße 3a, Berlin-Schöneberg. Die schwullesbisch-geschichtsträchtige Ecke war einst das Lokal Fugger-Eck, dessen Inhaber / Betreiber auch die in den 70er Jahren sehr bekannte schwule Disco Trocadero in der Courbièrestraße betrieb. Feuilletonist Helmut Schödel beschreibt das Fugger-Eck nicht lange vor dessen Schließung in der Süddeutschen Zeitung folgendermaßen:

Im "Fugger-Eck" im Motzstraßen-Viertel legt der Wirt, der früher Tanzschullehrer in Bochum war, ein Mann in seinen Sechzigern, die Hits von damals auf, "Die rote Sonne von Barbados" oder "Gigi Amoroso" [sic]. Auf Knopfdruck löst er im ganzen Lokal ein Vogelgezwitscher aus, und wenn man die Toilette betritt, ertönt eine Alarmsirene. Zwischen Kunstblumen und allerlei Schischi dämmert dort das ehemals schwule Westberlin vor sich hin, die Vorwende-Zeit. Der Wirt führt das "Fugger-Eck" schon über 20 Jahre, ein ehemaliges Familienlokal, und davor hatte er die Schwulen-Disco "Trocadero". Soll was Besonderes gewesen sein, wie man hört. Der Wirt hat einen Freund, der die 40 auch längst überschritten hat.^[1]

Auf der Impressumsseite der Webseite des Blonds werden Rene Dolling, und Reinhard Wöbke als Geschäftsführer genannt. Das Blond ist nach eigenen Angaben eine Cocktailbar mit Karaoke und Flirt-Music-Box. Sie zeigt sich stolz auf ihre prominenten Gäste. Barinhaber Reinhard Wöbke benannte die Bar Blond nach der Klatsch-Talkshow eines Gastes seiner vorherigen Bar, nach der von Ralf Morgenstern moderierten ZDF-Sendung "Blond am Freitag". Das Interieur des Blond wurde von Bühnenbildner Thomas Gabriel entworfen, der für so renommierte Häuser wie die Deutsche Oper, Berlin gearbeitet hat. Laut der Website der Bar soll das Dekor die Gäste an die 1970er Jahre erinnern. Andere Quellen sprechen von den 1980er Jahren. Ein Online-Reiseberater versichert den Lesenden, dass die Bar trotz ihrer Lage im „Herzen des Schwulenviertels“ „heterofreundlich“ sei.

Blond is a gay bar at Eisenacher Straße 3a, Berlin-Schöneberg. This street corner steeped in gay-lesbian history was the location of the Fugger-Eck, a popular venue whose owner/operator also ran the very well known gay disco Trocadero on Courbièrestraße in the 1970s. Arts and culture columnist Helmut Schödel describes the Fugger-Eck in the Süddeutsche Zeitung not long before it it closed as follows:

In the "Fugger-Eck" in the Motzstrasse district, the bar's owner, a man in his sixties, who used to be a dance school teacher in Bochum, plays hits from the good old days, "Die rote Sonne von Barbados" or "Gigi Amoroso" [sic]. At the push of a button, he triggers the sound of chirping birds throughout the locale, and when a guest enter the restrooms, an alarm siren sounds. Former gay West Berlin in the Autumn of its years dozes between artificial flowers and all manner of foofaraw, time stands still in a moment before the German Reunification. The owner has been running the "Fugger-Eck", formerly a family restaurant, for over 20 years now, before that he ran the gay disco "Trocadero". It was something special, so they say. The owner has a boyfriend who too is well over 40.^[2]

On the legal information page of the Blond's web-site Rene Dolling, and Reinhard Wöbke are named as the managing directors. Blond is of it's own account a cocktail bar with karaoke and a flirt-music-box. The bar prides itself on it's prominent guests. The owner Reinhard Wöbke named the bar Blond after a patron at one of his former bars Ralf Morgenstern's gossip talk-show "Blond am Freitag" on Germany's Second German Television (ZDF). Blond's interior was designed by set designer Thomas Gabriel, who has worked for such prestigious venues as Deutsche Oper, Berlin. According to the bar's own web-site, the decor is meant to remind patrons of the 1970s. Other sources say the 1980s. One on-line trip advisor reassures readers that the bar is "heterofriendly" in spite of its location in the "heart of the gay district".
