English: The blue-fronted robin, belonging to the Muscicapidae family, stands as the sole species within the monotypic genus Cinclidium. Its distribution encompasses regions including Bhutan, China, Northeast India, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and potentially Nepal, with a natural habitat predominantly comprising temperate forests.

This robust ground-dwelling robin boasts a distinctive appearance characterized by a lengthy and broad tail. Males showcase a striking dark blue plumage, accentuated by a glistening sapphire forehead, while females exhibit a darker brown hue with paler underparts. Notably, both genders lack the prominent white tail panels observed in the closely related White-tailed Robin.

Inhabiting well-vegetated mid- to high-elevation forests, the blue-fronted robin engages in quiet foraging activities amidst dense undergrowth. Its melodic song, though brief, carries a sweetness characterized by 3-4 whistled phrases, reminiscent of a truncated thrush melody.
