Bluff Yokohama

Description

A region of Yokohama known as “The Bluff” overlooks Yokohama. Originally, The Bluff was largely used for recreational purposes by westerners (shooting, hiking, etc.) but was later developed as the town expanded. By 1880 it boasted a rifle range, athletic grounds, and a race course. Homes and several consulates and hospitals were built in the area. The photo captures the later development of The Bluff.
