Summary[edit]
DescriptionBok Tower and Pond (4933074255).jpg |
Bok Tower was built in 1927-1929 by Edward and Mary Louise Curtis Bok. It was on the grounds of a bird sanctuary which they had created in the early 1920s, near Lake Wales, Florida. Bok Tower contains a 60-bell carillon, which is played daily. The tower is 205 ft (62 m) high. It stands on one of the highest hills in Florida, 298 ft (91 m) above sea level. Edward Bok was the long-time editor of Ladies Home Journal magazine. His wife was the daughter of the publisher. |
