Description Bereits vorher eine wichtige Handelsstadt, folgte Bosra von 70 n.Chr. bis 106 n.Chr. Petra als Hauptstadt des Nabatäerreiches nach., ehe es im 3. Jhdt. unter Trajan zum Römischen Reich kam. 632 war es die erste von Arabern eroberte byzantinische Stadt.
