Português: O Brasão tem a seguinte interpretação simbólica:

"A) - O escudo português, para representar o Brasão de Armas de Lapão, foi herdado pela heráldica Brasileira como evocativo da raça latina, colonizadora e principal formadora de nossa nacionalidade; B) - A coroa Mural que o sobrepõe é o símbolo universal dos brasões de domínio que sendo de argenta (prata), de seis torres das quais apenas quatro são vistas em perspectiva do desenho, classifica a cidade representada na segunda grandeza, ou seja, sede do Município; C) - No campo superior a esquerda o símbolo do Lapão. Rocha profunda cheia D'Água que deu origem ao nome e a fundação do primeiro povoado, com o desenvolvimento se tornou cidade, sede do Município; D) - No campo superior sobre o Lapão o Sol ardente do sertão; E) - No campo direito ao alto a imagem da Mamona, no centro o Feijão e embaixo o milho. Símbolo dos principais produtos agrícolas desenvolvidos na região representando assim a maior atividade mantenedora da economia local; F) - No campo esquerdo-inferior a cor vermelha demostrando o dinamismo do povo e a cabeça de um boi que pé o esforço para o desenvolvimento da pecuária como fonte de reforço a economia."

English: The Coat of Arms has the following symbolic interpretation:

"A) - The Portuguese coat of arms, to represent the Coat of Arms of Lapão, was inherited by Brazilian heraldry as evocative of the Latin race, colonizer and main trainer of our nationality; B) - The Mural crown that superimposes it is the universal symbol of the domain coats that, being made of argenta (silver), of six towers of which only four are seen in perspective of the design, classifies the city represented in the second magnitude, that is, seat of the Municipality; C) - In the upper left field, the Lapão symbol. Deep rock full of water that gave rise to the name and the foundation of the first settlement, with the development it became a city, seat of the Municipality; D) - In the upper field over Lapão, the burning sun of the hinterland; E) - In the right field at the top the image of the castor bean, in the center the Bean and below the corn. Symbol of the main agricultural products developed in the region, thus representing the greatest activity that maintains the local economy; F) - In the left-lower field, the color red demonstrating the dynamism of the people and the head of an ox that uses the effort to develop livestock as a source of strengthening the economy. "
