Description
Português: O brasão da UFC foi criado em 1965 por um religioso alemão, o Irmão Paulo Lachenmeyer. Contém uma banda com bordas denticuladas, de ouro, carregadas de três folhas de carnaubeira, a palmeira regional.O denticulado lembra as ameias de uma fortaleza, simbolizando a força do saber e da cultura.Nas insígnias há três fachos de ouro. O lema, impresso em latim, é "Virtus unita fortior" ("quanto mais unidas as virtudes,tanto mais fortes"). Atravessando o escudo, três tochas representam as áreas do conhecimento na época de criação do brasão:Ciências Exatas,Ciências Humanas e Ciências da Saúde.
