Summary

Description

Vintage postcard of Brimham Rocks, North Yorkshire, England. Showing a farm sale taking place in front of Mauds Farm House. This is a divided-back postcard, showing pre-1914 costume, and pre-1914 sepia, glass negative, photographic quality.

Note the people at the back of the crowd turning round and posing for the camera. Also the man with his back to the camera, standing at the back of the crowd, oblivious of his cane about to lean on the dog. Note also the couple talking discreetly behind a wooden building on the right.

Note: This could be the sale of farm equipment following the May 1914 death of Brimham Rocks caretaker William Brown, who lived at Mauds Farm.
