The text of the title page is as follows:

"British Liberties, / OR THE / Free-born Subject's Inheritance; / CONTAINING / The Laws that form the Baſis of thoſe Liberties; / with OBSERVATIONS thereon; / ALSO / An Introductory ESSAY / ON / POLITICAL LIBERTY / AND A / Comprehenſive View of the / CONSTITUTION / OF / GREAT BRITAIN.
"Les Anglois, pour favoiſer la liberté, ont ôté toutes les puiſſances / intermediaries qui formoient leur Monarchie. Ils ont bien raiſon / de conſerver cette liberté ; s’ils venoient à la perdre, ils ſeroient / un des peoples les plus eſclaves de la terre. Monteſquieu.
