Description
English: Bereits 1736 entstand das erste Brockenhaus und mit ihm eine Infrastruktur für den Tourismus. Diese Tuschezeichnung vom Anfang des 19. Jahrhundert zeigt das erste Gasthaus auf dem Brocken, von Osten. Es wurde um 1800 unmittelbar auf der Brockenkuppe erbaut und brannte im Jahr 1859 nieder, woraufhin die Erbauung eines Hotels erfolgte. Mit der Errichtung des Brockenhauses wurde zeitgleich um 1800 der erste Aussichtsturm errichtet. Dank dieser Unterkünfte wurde der Brocken zu einem bekannten Ausflugsziel verschiedener Dichter und Denker wie Heinrich Heine und Johann Wolfgang Goethe.
