Description
Deutsch: Bezeichnet 1775 (Brunnen), künstlerisch, technikgeschichtlich und ortsbildprägend von Bedeutung.

Der im nordöstlichen Teil des Marktplatzes befindliche monolithische Wassertrog ist einer der großen Sandsteinbrunnen am Markt. Bereits 1676 bestand hier ein hölzerner Röhrkasten. Der Standort blieb seit der Aufstellung unverändert. 1905 wurde der Brunnen um einen Sockel erweitert, auf welchem ein Denkmal für König Albert errichtet wurde. Das Denkmal wurde 1942 zur Materialgewinnung eingeschmolzen.

Am 23. Juni 2016 wurde die neue Brunnenskulptur des Künstlers Jan-Witte-Kropius installiert, die seitdem den Sandsteintrog am Untermarkt ziert. 1
