The top 224 pixels of the image were cropped off with the command jpegtran -crop 1500x894+0+231 Bryce_Amphitheater.jpg > Bryce_Amphitheater.jpg.crop Note that jpegtran is a lossless way to crop: the remaining part of the image didn't lose any quality. (There are technical reasons why the result was 901 pixels high, not 894.)
