Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bryce Canyon National Park reveals the long geologic history of sedimentation and erosion in a colorful sequence of rocks. Faulting, uplift and erosion give access to the discovery of plant and animal life in the region 130 to 40 million years ago. The “hoodoos,” towering limestone formations caused as the Paunsaugunt Plateau transitions between freezing and thawing cycles more than 200 times a year. They began basically the same way a pothole forms on a paved road. Bryce Canyon is the largest concentration of hoodoos in the world.
