English: The ruined courtyard of Ignác Semmelweis' birthplace at no. 1-3 Apród utca, Budapest after the destruction of the second world war in 1962. The late Baroque house was rebuilt in 1962-64 for the Semmelweis Museum of Medical History. In the background no. 6 Ybl Miklós tér - part of the Várkert Bazár complex - is visible behind the scaffolding.
Magyar: Semmelweis Ignác szülőházának romos udvara a háborús pusztítás után 1962-ben. A késő barokk lakóházat 1962-64-ben állították helyre a Semmelweis Orvostörténeti Múzeum számára. A háttérben a felállványozott épület az Ybl Miklós tér 6. számú ház, a Várkert Bazár része. |
