Description
English: Interior view of the theatre hall of Schule am Meer on the East Frisian island of Juist in Prussia, erected by Berlin-based architect Bruno Ahrends (1878–1948). Costumed teachers and students include as 2nd from the left (sitting): Eduard Zuckmayer (1890–1972). Behind him standing: Anni Reiner (1891–1972), née Hochschild. On her left her husband Dr. Paul Reiner (1886–1932). In the front row standing on the right is principal Martin Luserke (1880–1968). Slightly left of the picture's centre stands the student Ulrich Sild (1911–1937), bare torso, wearing a necklace and a headband.
Deutsch: Innenansicht der 1930/31 nach Plänen des Berliner Architekten Bruno Ahrends (1878–1948) errichteten Bühnenhalle des reformpädagogischen Landerziehungsheims Schule am Meer im Loog auf der ostfriesischen Insel Juist in Preußen; Schüler und Lehrer kostümiert auf der Bühne positioniert. Auf der Bühne sind hinten links außen der Lehrer Dr. Paul Reiner (1886–1932) und seine Ehefrau Anna Sara Reiner (1891–1972), geb. Hochschild, zu erkennen, vorn als zweiter von links der Musikpädagoge, Chor- und Orchesterleiter Eduard Zuckmayer (1890–1972) und vorn ganz rechts stehend der Schulleiter Martin Luserke (1880–1968). Leicht links der Bildmitte, mit freiem Oberkörper, Halskette und Stirnband, steht der Schüler Ulrich Sild (1911–1937). Das Gebäude war reichsweit die einzige freistehende Theaterhalle einer Schule.
