For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Das grösste Flugboot der Welt "Do X" ein Wunderwerk deutscher Technik! Das grösste 12 Motoren-Flugboot der Welt "Do X" wurde in den Dornier-Werken in Altenrhein/Schweiz nach anderthalbjähriger Arbeit fertiggestellt. "Do X", genannt das fliegende Hotelschiff, kann hundert Passagiere aufnehmen und 12 Motoren von insgesamt 6000 P.S. treiben das fliegende Hotel zu einer Höchstgeschwindigkeit von ca. 250 km. in der Stunde an. Höchster Komfort, wie Passagier-Deck, Tanzsaal, Salon, sind in dem Riesen-Flugboot vorhanden. Die Tragflächen des Flugbootes haben eines Länge von insgeamt 42 m. Eigens durch die Maschinen-zentrale werden unter dem Kommando eines Ingenieurs die 12 Mototren bedient. Der Führer des Riesenflugbootes "Do X" Chefpilot Wagner der Dornierwerke, welcher auch die ersten Probeflüge machen wird. |
