For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Magdeburg, Petri-Kirche, Ruine Zentralbild Biscan 1.10.1952 Wertvolles Bauwerk durch Mithilfe der Bevölkerung gerettet. Zu der im Jahre 1945 durch die amerikanischen Bomber zerstörten Kirchen Magdeburgs gehört auch die Petrikirche. Die Sakristei dieser Kirche, ein Rest des einzigen backsteingotischen Baues der Stadt hat besonders kunsthistorischen Wert. Auf Kosten der DDR wurde die Sakristei instandgesetzt. UBz: Die Ruine der Petri-Kirche, (Im Vordergrund die wiederaufgebaute Sakristei)
