Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg, Wohnblocks Zentralbild Junge Mo-Wi. 12.12.1952 Die "Grüne Stadt" im Bezirk Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt der Arbeit des demokratischen Magistrats von Groß-Berlin ist der Kampf gegen den Wohnraummangel, der durch den Krieg entstanden ist. Im Jahre 1952 wurden im demokratischen Sektor 2875 Wohnungen ausser den 2139 Wohnungen des Nationalen Aufbauprogramms an der Stalinallee fertiggestellt. In dem Häuserkomplex zwischen der Kurischen, Kniprode- und Gumbinner Straße am Bezirk Prenzlauer Berg entsteht z.B. die "Grüne Stadt" mit insgesamt 774 modernen Neubauwohnungen, einem Zentralwaschhaus, einem Lehrlingsheim für 30 Lehrlinge, einem Kinderheim für 137 Kinder und einer Ladenstraße mit 6 Läden.
