For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Görlitz, Altstadt, Untermarkt ADN-ZB Häßler 25.9.1982 Bez. Dresden: Schöne DDR. Renaissancehäuser wie dieses architektonisch interessante Eckhaus und Barockbauten findet man noch heute am Görlitzer Untermarkt. In dieser Gegend befand sich das Zentrum der alten Stadtanlage von 1215-20. Die Altstadt zählt mit ihrem Reichtum an historischen Bauwerken zu den Baudenkmälern mit internationalem Kunstwert. (siehe 1982-0925-003)
