Leipzig, Marktplatz, "Alte Waage" ADN-ZB Gahlbeck 28.2.1983 Zum Beitrag: Als Pfeffer noch Zahlungsmittel war - Leipziger Messe-Marktgeschichten Auf dem Marktplatz zu Leipzig. Rechts im Bild das Haus "Markt 4 Alte Waage" mit seinem schönen Renaissance-Staffegiebel - erbaut wurde das Haus im Jahre 1555, im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde es 1943 zerstört, der Wiederaufbau erfolgte 1963 64. Taxierungen und Steuereinnahmen der Waage waren jahrhundertelang unbestechliches Maß des Pulsschlages der Messe. Alle Kaufleute und Händler, die in der Zeit der Warenmesse nach Leipzig kamen, mußten mit ihren Wagen und Karren zur Waage. Das Abladen durften nur "geschorene Läder" durchführen, Oberaufsicht der "Wägegeschäfte, Verrechtungen" usw. hatten zwei Ratsherren, denen oft andere Ratsherren als Beisitzer zur Seite standen. (Hierzu gehört auch 1983-0228-300N!)
