Rostock, Hafen, Entsorgungsschiff für Ballastwasser ADN-ZB Deutsche Demokratische Republik 21.11.1984 Ballastwassertransport (Serie-3 Motive) Für die Entsorgung in- und ausländischer Schiffe ist das Spezialschiff "BAWA 1" von der Bagger-, Bugsier- und Bergungsreederei Rostock verantwortlich, das hier am Ölhafen der DDR-Ostseemetropole festgemacht hat. Es bringt aus den Seehäfen Rostock, Wismar und Stralsund ölhaltieges Wasser, das von Hochseeschiffen abgepumpt wurde. Auf einer Fahrt können 370 Tonnen Ballastwasser an Bord genommen werden, das in die Trennanlage (Öl-Wasser) des Ölhafens kommt. Jährlich werden auf diese Weise 7000 bis 8000 Tonnen Öl zurückgewonnen und das Wasser "umweltfreundlich" an die See zurückgegeben. Die Aufbereitungsanlage unterbietet den international geforderten Wert von 15 Milligramm pro Liter Wasser.
