For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Wismar, Güterwaggons, Kali-Verladeanlage ADN-ZB Sindermann 6.6.88 Bez. Rostock: Steigende Umschlagleistungen. Im Seehafen Wismar haben die Umschlagarbeiter in den ersten fünf Monaten des Jahres rund 1, 6, Millionen Tonnen Güter umgeschlagen und damit die Leistung gegenüber dem Vorjahr gesteigert. Wismar ist der Haupthafen der DDR für den Kaliexport. Mit Zielzügen wird das Düngemittel aus dem Süden der Republik in die Hafenstadt gefahren, automatisch entladen und über kilometerlange Bänder in Lagerhallen oder direkt zum Schiff transportiert.
