For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Elbbrücke "Blaues Wunder" ADN-ZB Hiekel 27.9.88 Dresden: Das "Blaue Wunder", die berühmte Elbbrücke, überspannt den Fluß im Stadtteil Blasewitz. Die Eisenbrücke wurde von 1891 bis 1893 gebaut und ist 57m hoch. Gegenwärtig erhält das Bauwerk einen neuen Anstrich in mehreren Farbschichten. Mit dem hellblauen Farbton macht die Brücke dann ihrem Name wieder alle Ehre.
