For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Hoyerswerda, Kulturhaus ADN-ZB Weisflog 4.5.89 Bez. Cottbus: Wahl-Kulturelles Zentrum von Hoyerswerda ist das 1984 eröffnete Haus der Berg- und Energiearbeiter mit einem Saal, in dem 830 Personen Platz finden. Über 1,1 Millionen Besucher waren bisher zu Gast, mehr als 5.000 VEranstalungen standen auf dem programm. Zahlreiche Ausstellungen im oberen Foyer machten mit Malerei und Grafik von Volks- und Berufskünstlern bekannt. Hoyerswerda ist mit fast 70.000 Einwohnern die zweitgrößte Stadt des Bezirkes Cottbus. Mit dem Aufbau des Gaskombinates Schwaze Pumpe war die Einwohnerzahl auf fast das Zehnfache gestiegen. Mehr als 1.600 Wohnungen entstanden durch Neubau und Modernisierung seit 1984.
