For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. ADN-ZB Oberst-23.1.90 Berlin: SED-Symbol An der Vorderfront des ehemaligen ZK-Gebäudes am Werderschen Markt werden in Kürze nur noch einige Löcher im Putz daran erinnern, daß hier das Symbol der Partei hing. In dem Zeichen, das die Vereinigung von KPD und SPD im April 1946 symbolisierte, lag ursprünglich ein guter Sinn. Er ging in dem Maße verloren, wie innerhalb der Partei stalinistische Strukturen dominierten. Daher beschloß die SED-PDS auf ihrer letzten Vorstandssitzung, auf diese Symbolik zu verzichten. |
