For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Köhler 20.7.1953 Interzonenpässe werden schnell ausgestellt Entsprechend den Beschlüssen der Regierung über die Erleichterung des Interzonenverkehrs werden alle Anträge von den Volkspolizei-Inspektionen schnell und unbürokratisch bearbeitet. Auf der Volkspolizei-Inspektion Berlin-Treptow, Johannisthal, Sterndamm. UBz: Der Rentner Paul Kern aus Berlin-Johannisthal, Ostmarkstrasse 4, erledigt die letzten Formalitäten. Er will seine Kinder und Enkelkinder in Düren-Rheinland besuchen. "Als ich vor zwei Jahren einen Pass beantragte, wurde er mir abgelehnt, um so grösser ist heute meine Freude, dass ich so schnell und unbürokratisch die Genehmigung zur Reise nach Düren erhielt", sagte Paul Kern.
