For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Weiß Zi-Ge 4Motive 28.10.1955 Neuerer der Republik helfen Berlinern Drehern Am 26. Oktober 1955 führten die Oberingeneure Friedrich Niekels und Kurt Marx aus Leipzig im VEB "7.Oktober";Berlin; das von ihnen entwickelte Sprühkühlverfahren vor. Die Kollegen Nieckels und Marx brachten zur Vorführung ihres Verfahrens einen Apparat mit, der bereits vom VEB "MEWA",Plauen, serienmäßig hergestellt wird. Dieses Verfahren kann beim Drehen, Fräsen, Bohren und Schleifen angewandt werden. Bisher wurde beim zerspanen ein konzentrierter Strahler einer Emusion eingespritzt, der lediglich die Späne kühlte. Bei dem Sprühkühlverfahren wird diese Emulsion durch Preßluft zu einem feinem Nebel zerstäubt und von unten gegen den Drehstrahl geführt. Daraus ergibt sich eine bessere Kühlung bei der Arbeit mit spanabhebenden Werkzeugen. UBz: Beim Vorführendes neuen Verfahrens im Großdrehmaschinenbau "7.Oktober".
